WHAT IS SIN?
Sin is disobeying God, any sin, whether it be considered minor or big(in human terms), is ALL horrible in God's eyes.
"Honor thy mother and father..., thou shall not kill, thou shall not commit adultery, thou shall not steal, thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor, thou shall not covet..etc...Exodus 20:12-17.
"Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." Matthew 5:27-28
"...for whatsoever is not of faith is sin." Romans 14:23b
"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." James 4:17
"The thought of foolishness is sin..." Proverbs 24:9a
THE PENALTY FOR SIN:
"For the wages of sin is death..." Romans 6:23a
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Revelation 21:8
GOD'S REMEDY FOR SIN:
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners..." 1 Timothy 1:15
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6
WHAT MAN MUST DO TO BE SAVED:
"And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel." Mark 1:15
"...I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you...how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
"...what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..." Acts 16:30-31
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 3:18
THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISION IN YOUR LIFE!
Dear reader, eternity faces you. You will spend it forever in either two places. Heaven or hell. The most important decision you can ever make in life is to make absolutely certain where you will go when you die. Your destination depends on where you are looking. Look to Jesus Christ and live!
"...and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else." Isaiah 45:21-22
You can either reject the Lord Jesus Christ, or you can look upon Him in faith, believing on Him as your Savior. He paid for all your sins, so you don't have to for eternity in hell! Believe(trust, place faith) solely on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved! Eternal life is a free gift, ready to be received, if only you would take it!
AN EXAMPLE IN THE BIBLE OF A GUILTY SINNER BEING JUSTIFIED AND SAVED:
"And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner." Luke 18:13
